Open Water Swimming

There is no formal Open Water swimming club but there are a number of hardy swimmers who brave the icy waters around the island year round. We generally meet for a sea swimming session on Sunday mornings at Port Erin jetty (between the Raglan Pier and the Lifeboat station), at 10.30am. We often arrange additional swims in a variety of locations, especially in the warmer months. Bring your costume/trunks - or a wetsuit if you prefer - and join us in the water.

We also organise a number of Open Water swimming races over the summer months in various locations around the Island such as the Queenie Bay Swim and the Port Erin Bay Swim.

We are not an ASA club or affiliated to IOMSA, and are BLDSA affiliated for competitive events only. Please note that all swims therefore, take place at your own risk and juniors (ages 12 to 16) should be accompanied by a parent. Ages 12 and over only.
