New Island Records sheet available here or in Meets Section

It's been yet another busy weekend for our swimmers with a number competing at the British Universities Swimming Championships in Sheffield.

As you may be aware Paul Jones, a Sports Consultant, was appointed by IOM Sport last year to undertake a review of two sports on the island to establish what those sports need to do to continue to improve and to develop the ‘international athletes of the future’.

Magnus Kelly & Blae Richardson were in action in Manchester last weekend, accompanied by Head Coach Lee Holland, for the first weekend of the 2016 Lancashire Championships. Multiple PBs from both and a Bronze medal for Magnus in the 200IM made for a good weekend. Both swimmers will be back there this weekend but will by joined by 20 teammates as the focus moves to the shorter events. Good luck to all of the swimmers representing IOM Swimming at Lancs and any others at County comps further afield.

Following the success of the first Swim 24 last year, this year's event, The Big Swim 24 will take place Sunday 29th March until Monday 30th March, 10am until 10am, Western Swimming Pool, Peel. There are two challenges, the first 24 Hour Swim Challenge for squad and club swimmers and the second Visitor Team Challenge Trophy for any team or family that would like to take part. All swimmers and swim teams will swim on a 50 meter "relay" format with one swimmer taking to the water at a time - so the more team members you have the more rest you will get!

Isle of Man Swimming has created two new Facebook groups, which will replace the original Isle of Man Swimming Club Facebook page. The Facebook groups are an important communication tool for IOMSA and IOMSC enabling notices and messages to be distributed efficiently and to appropriate people, allowing documents to be uploaded as well as providing privacy controls, particularly for the closed group.
